France, swinging clock, "Jeunesse et Papillons" (youth and butterflies) by Rancoulet, the female figure in flowing garb and with a butterfly on her dress, her right arm held aloft, and supporting the swinging timepiece, the 8 daytime and strike movement contained in the patinated, upper sphere, with three rod gridiron style connection to matching lower ball, alll mounted to a painted, molded base
CONDITION:
figure repainted, a section of her sash missing, a crack at the top of same, butterfly with broken wing, base with small hole, appears to retain an old surface, swinging assembly with refinished spheres, two replaced thumbscrews, mounts polished, ticks and strikes
